Parrot: What can I do to stop tangling my window blind string?

Q1 of 2: My yellow nape is housed by the kitchen window. (the only place I can logically put her) I raise and lower the blinds when it’s too hot. (she will not go down into her cage for food/water if it’s hot/very sunny)
BUT weither I taught her because of this or not is besides the point, How can I get to quit “playing” with the pull? She will do any of a combination of unscrew the metal half circle ***** from it’s mate of an extender or just twist and twist the string up and tangle it. I know she uses it as a toy. (she doesn’t do it all the time, but on the days she DOES do it…) I use it to raise and lower the blinds, for myself, as well as for her.
I’ve already pulled the cage away from the window already for playing with the over hanging curtains and I try to tie up the string to the side.
I am now out of ideas. I’m thinking of giving her a puzzle toy to untangle/unscrew (as soon as I can find one). Any ideas? Of any kind?
Yea, She knows HOW to undo things. She also knows how to slide the hanging bar to open the big door (then sit on the top of the door) so I now have to use the secondary cross bar latch to keep it closed. Oddly the hanging bar on the side door, she doesn’t mess with.

Move her away from the window and distract her with toys as you suggested. Birds are very curious and adventurous and you may have a hard time getting her to stop if you leave the cage where it is. However, she could easily wrap the cord around herself and be injured or die.
I had to laugh though when you said she unscrewed the *****. My friend bought her Cockatoo a beautiful stainless steel cage last year and the bird immediately set about unscrewing all of the screws and releasing himself from the cage through the food doors. She finally had to put him back in his old cage. Never underestimate the intelligence of these characters!
Additional Comment:
LOL She sounds like a lot of fun and one of those birds that you constantly have to be 3 paces in front of!

find another place to put your bird like hang him or her on the porch or on the balcony
